regard to race, religion, color or creed.
We follow the traditional school year calendar which is from September to mid June. Summer school
will be available only for students enrolled in the traditional school year and their eligible siblings.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of our school is to meet community needs in the Salem area. We are a family-oriented
school, responsive to the interests and concerns of parents who wish a quality education for their
preschool children.
CURRICULUM:
The Salem Montessori School offers coverage of the basic language, math, reading and writing skills.
Simultaneously studied are the areas of botany, zoology, cultural history, geography, art and music
appreciation. Play times emphasize large muscle development, skill building and socialization.
OBSERVATION:
We encourage observation at any time by appointment and request adherence to the "observation
guidelines" which define the respect with which we approach our children's work.
COMMITMENT AND EXPECTATIONS FROM PARENTS:
The Salem Montessori School, of course, hopes that all the parents of our children are involved in
understanding the depth and scope of their children's work. We expect to work closely with our parents
as we understand the full value of schools and homes that maintain excellent communication and are
simultaneously supportive of each other. The strength of a private Montessori program depends on the
commitment of the parents to continuing the quality of their children's education.
